NYC Arts and Humanities Conference at The School of Visual Arts
I am at the Arts and Humanities conference at the school of visual arts in NYC,It has been a wonderful intellectual exchange of professors from English,Art,Philosophy and Psychology.I presented a paper with a great response and of course saw Judy Chicago's dinner party and Cara Walker's work at the Brooklyn museum of art and will post pics for you when I return next week.I was moved by all the important feminist activists/artists who have changed the course of women's rights in art of the 20th century.

cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much.New York is still such a happening place with so much art and people and culture in general.I must get my annual fill! It is also so neat to see many of the art works which have changed the course of feminist art history.I really enjoyed a work by Louise Nevelson at the Whitney Museum. It was made in 1978.One of my favorites is Helen Lundberg, a marvelous magic realist painter who lived until 101 years old!
